Engine Condition Monitoring Examples

How Our Trending Charts Illustrate Engine Conditioning Monitoring Examples

Each of our trending charts plots the original data as a solid red line (Maiden Data), and the present trend is displayed as the black broken line (Last 52 flights). The difference in both trends is an indication of gas path deterioration over time. The yellow diamond on the left side of the EGT chart represents the upper limit of the EGT differential.

Data Plot Scatter Depends On:

  • Electronic Data – tends to plot smoothly.
  • Hand Recorded Data – will plot smoothly if the flight crews are paying attention and following company instructions and the corporate directives of their reliability program. Failure to follow the directives of the reliability program will result in sloppy data with a lot of “scatter.”
